ASI Solutions Builds InfiniStor Cloud on Quantum ActiveScale Platform

Founded in 1985, ASI Solutions provides IT services across Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on solving customer challenges through tailored infrastructure solutions. The company identified an unmet need in the New Zealand market for a cost-effective, locally hosted cloud storage service that avoids the unpredictable costs of hyperscale providers.

In response, ASI launched InfiniStor, a scalable cloud storage platform powered by Quantum ActiveScale. ActiveScale’s erasure coding, cold storage tier, and intuitive management made it the perfect fit to deliver reliable, sustainable, and affordable storage services.

The University of Auckland became the flagship customer, replacing its aging tape infrastructure with InfiniStor. The platform integrates with REANNZ, enabling high-speed access to research data and seamless ingestion of massive datasets for long-term archiving.

By deploying ActiveScale, ASI gained a competitive edge: the ability to offer 19-nines data durability, simplify operations for in-house IT teams, and deliver Glacier-class storage at significantly lower cost—all hosted within New Zealand data centers to meet sovereignty and compliance requirements.

Looking ahead, ASI plans to expand InfiniStor into Australia and introduce white-label offerings for regional service providers, with the potential to integrate AI capabilities for data analytics.
